a boys’ game (revised)

tiger lily, lady slipper, foxglove, daisy

entering the tram
on that sunny morning in april
i’m absorbed into a colourful world
imaging how a lonely balcony is going
to be turned into a green oasis

my flower power
confronted with
their world of war

the two boys
in the row behind me
and their game
– who bought them the realistic plastic guns they now have in their small hands? –

the dangerous face of war
doesn’t only show in the scars
visible on our bodies

it also enters our bodies

I feel it

when I turn around
yelling them to stop
looking into two (now) innocent faces
